Next Geosolutions has recently completed the marine operations of an important contract awarded by Saipem for the provision of pipelay survey support services in assistance to the installation works of the Baltic Pipe Offshore Gas Pipeline Project in the Baltic Sea.
The Baltic Pipe Project is a European strategic gas infrastructure project that will allow transport of gas from Norway to the Danish and Polish markets, as well as to end-users in neighbouring countries. It will also enable the supply of gas from Poland to the Danish market. The project is being developed by the Danish gas and electricity transmission system operator Energinet and the Polish gas transmission system operator GAZ-SYSTEM, which have in turn assigned the main construction works to Saipem SpA.
The NextGeo scope of work consisted in the provision of various survey and construction support services, including UXO target inspection and identification, pre-lay survey, crossing preparation c/w mattressing, touch-down monitoring (TDM), as-laid survey and other pipelay survey support services.
NextGeo’s survey scope lasted about nine months and involved the utilisation of several vessels of different sizes, including its flag ships MPSV Ievoli Ivory and MPSV NG Worker, as well as other smaller vessels for the nearshore sections.
